There is a Japanese Tradition that all married women must learn how to cook Nikujaga(馬鈴薯燉肉 in Mandarin) for their husband. It is a Japanese dish of meat, potatoes, ito konnyaku, vegetables, and onion stewed in sweetened soy sauce. Generally, potatoes make up the bulk of the dish, with meat mostly serving as a source of flavor. This is a very healthy dish because it contains meat (proteins), vegetables, potato (carbohydrates), and more. Plus, it smells and tastes amazingly. Without further ado, let’s get started.

5. Brine meat by adding sake#1 into it. (for smell)
6. Heat up a pan with olive oil, and stir fry onion and carrots until they change color.

7. Add potato and konjac noodles and stir fry.

8. Pour in dashi and wait for it to boil.

9. Add meat and seasoning, put on the lid, and wait for 6-8 minutes.

10. When carrot is cooked, test the flavour and adjust.
11. Add in vegetables, such as beans, if you want and wait for the liquid to thicken a bit. You are done!
