Korean Spicy Rice Cake (Ddeokbokki) is surely the most well-known Korean street snack in Korea. They are spicy, slightly sweet and have chewy rice cakes. Since they are so easy and do not require a lot of time to cook, I often make this dish whenever I am craving for it. If you have had ddeokbokki before, you will definitely love this recipe. If you have never tasted this dish before and can handle some spicy food, you must try it!
Ingredients
Korean Rice Cake 600g
Carrot 1 pc
Onion 1 pc
Cabbage ½ pc
Korean Chili Paste 3Tbsp
Korean Chili Flakes 1 Tbsp
Sugar 1Tbsp
Kamaboko a carton
Green Onion (chopped)
Sesame seeds optional
Ramen noodles optional

Method
1. In order to soften up the rice cakes and prevent them from sticking together when cooking, soak them completely in a large bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes.
2. Using a saucepan, heat the sesame oil over medium high heat.
3. Add in water, sugar, kamaboko, green onion, carrot, meat, cabbage, and rice cakes. (Make sure to have enough water to barely cover all of the rice cakes.)

4. After that, add the Korean chili paste and flakes. Cover the saucepan with a lid.
5. Bring to a boil and then reduce to low. After 15 minutes, add in ramen noodles.

6. Cover the saucepan lid and wait until the sauce is thicken.

7. After the sauce thickens, taste your sauce and adjust if needed.
8. You can serve now! I recommend you to sprinkle sesame seeds to enhance the flavor and aroma.

Enjoy!
